Murray began competing in motorsport, particularly rallying, during 1964, firstly as a co-driver then later changing to a driver. During the following years Murray was awarded four Queensland state titles and one Australian title. He also competed in selected rounds of the ATCC as well as in the PNG Safari Rally which he won four times in the mid 80s.

Steve Ross:

Steve began competing in 1978 as a driver, then as a co-driver being awarded one Queensland state title.

We have both been involved in the sport at a grass-root level, at state and national level, as competitors as well as sitting on various panels. We have also directed, course checked and stewarded events. During 1990 we created and promoted the GEMINI SERIES which began the following year and then expanded to other states. The series ran successfully for 18 years which was one of the longest in Queensland rallying.
